By creating a diverse and inclusive work environment, we attract and retain the best person for the job whatever their gender, ethnicity or sexuality.

Research shows that diverse companies deliver better performance and productivity by bringing together broader thinking, experiences and perspectives and creating an environment where everyone feels welcome and included.

As a key business driver, we are committed to leveraging the power of our diverse workforce. Our Diversity Council, chaired by our CEO, focuses on developing a strong pipeline of diverse talent, creating an inclusive workplace and working with the community to create employment pathways for all.

Over recent years we’ve significantly increased the number of women employees including increasing the number of women in leadership roles by well over 50%.  As a result, we’ve seen significant productivity gains. And as a principle partner with the Global Women network, we have actively launched a range of development opportunities and initiatives for female leaders across the entire organisation including programmes like Women in Plumbing and the FAB Women breakfast series.

As a global company, our aim is to reflect our diverse customers and the many communities we work in.

In New Zealand, we have been actively growing the number of Maori and Pacifika leaders via specifically targeted development initiatives and also partnering with government agencies to provide opportunities for Maori and Pacific island youth to gain work skills and employment. Similar initiatives are underway in many locations around the world.

Sexual Orientation

We are immensely proud to be the first construction company to receive accreditation from Rainbow Tick, New Zealand’s only programme for certifying an organisation as safe and welcoming for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and intersex (LGBTI) employees.
