Fletcher Building Limited announces that it has appointed Mark Malpass as chief executive of the Concrete division.
The appointment follows the decision to split the Infrastructure division into the Construction and Concrete divisions.
As chief executive of the Concrete division, Mark will have responsibility for Fletcher Building’s New Zealand and Australian concrete businesses, including the cement, quarry, ready mix concrete and concrete products businesses in New Zealand, and the concrete products and quarry operations in Australia.
Mark has recently returned to New Zealand having concluded a 19 year career with ExxonMobil Corporation. His last role was based in Singapore as the Strategic Planning and Implementation manager where he led a strategic change project within the Asia Pacific business. Prior to leaving New Zealand, Mark was the Country Manager - Mobil Oil New Zealand Ltd where he had responsibility for a multifunctional business with revenues in excess of NZ$1 billion and employing over 1,000 people. He was also a director of the New Zealand Refining Company.
Mark holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) and Bachelor of Engineering (BE) Mechanical (Hons).
