The chairman of Fletcher Building Limited today announced the appointment of Jonathan Ling as a director of the Company with effect from 1 September 2006. This appointment will coincide with his commencement as chief executive of the Company, and was foreshadowed on the announcement of his succession to that role.
Consistent with the governance practices applied by Fletcher Building Finance Limited, the listed issuer of capital notes, Jonathan Ling has also been appointed as a director of that company.
As an executive director of both Fletcher Building Limited and Fletcher Building Finance Limited, Mr Ling is not an independent director for purposes of the New Zealand Exchange Rules.
