John Judge Appointed as Non-Executive Director

The Chairman of Fletcher Building Limited, Dr Roderick Deane today announced the appointment of John Judge as a non executive director of the company. The appointment is effective from today. Mr Judge, based in Auckland, has until recently been the Chief Executive of Ernst & Young New Zealand, and a member of that firm’s International Council.

The appointment of Mr Judge to the board is the first part of the change in the board composition expected over the next few years and is in accordance with the company’s governance guidelines, which were signalled at the company’s annual shareholders’ meeting. The board has determined that Mr Judge is an independent director.

“I am very pleased to be able to welcome John to the board,” said Dr Deane. “He has considerable experience in Australasian business and brings further financial and analytical knowledge to the board from his highly successful career.”

Mr Judge is Chairman of the Museum of New Zealand Te Papa Tongarewa and a member of both the Auckland and Otago University Business Schools’ advisory boards.
