Green buildings and infrastructure
Sustainability and climate change are important drivers of new product development
The efficient use of natural resources is one of the biggest challenges facing our generation. Organisations and individuals throughout the world are recognising their responsibility to protect and maintain our natural environment for generations to come.
Fletcher Building's Climate Change & Environmental Sustainability Council is setting the direction for the group. A goal has been set to ensure we are working collectively towards the same outcome:
“Fletcher Building will aim to reduce its CO2 emissions by 5% between 2008 and 2012, (using 2007 actual emissions as the reference), and assuming similar levels of production in 2012.”
Each year, we report our energy use and CO2 emissions in Australia as required by its Energy Efficiency Opportunities Act 2006 and the National Greenhouse and Energy Reporting Act 2007. We also report our CO2 emissions to the Carbon Disclosure Project. Please visit our page on the Carbon Disclosure Project website for our most recent report, or view our 2008 report below.
