Laminex has successfully built a strong reputation as leaders in the Australian design landscape with their unexpectedly brilliant finishes. Now, it seems the brand has entered the fashion scene in the most unexpected way with talented young Australian – Olivia Delahunty – recently unveiling a forward-thinking dress as part of the Apex Australian Teenage Fashion Awards 2015.
Making national headlines, the dress made entirely of discontinued Laminex swatches captured the attention of readers and spectators just in time for the notably fashion-forward Victorian Spring Racing season. The Year 10 student’s stunning creation earned second place in the Wearable Art category of the 2015 Apex Australia Teenage Fashion Awards national final.
This is not exactly a first for Laminex, with many Australian designers having taken inspiration from the range across the home and fashion industries, using Laminex sample chips to create obscure pieces over the years, from jewellery and brooches to coasters and sculptures.
Laminex continues to inspire with their 2016 range update showcasing more design-leading decor additions. View the full range update here: http://laminex.com.au/content.php?page=reimagine-laminex-2016
